What is equalityMD?
equalityMD and our trusted telehealth partner are here to provide an LGBTQ+ inclusive healthcare platform that’s changing how our community perceives and receives care. Our network of primary care and mental health providers have completed evidenced-based LGBTQ+ cultural competency training, allowing them to create safe spaces where we can be our authentic selves and receive the care we deserve.
You select a provider, schedule an appointment, and enjoy knowing that no matter what provider you pick, you’ll experience compassion, dignity, and respect. You can keep seeing the same provider, or you can select another provider at any time for any reason. The choice is always yours.
Our affordable monthly subscription costs less than some insurance plans, and significantly less than out-of-pocket expenses you’d pay for individual visits to doctors and therapists. It’s a great option for those who are uninsured or underinsured, as well as for those seeking more inclusive healthcare options outside of their covered networks.

Why did we create equalityMD?
The LGBTQ+ community (30M+ Americans) is designated by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a “Health Disparity Population” because of historic discrimination, unique health concerns, and inadequate access to care.
1 in 4 LGBTQ+ people experience discrimination when seeking care, causing 1 in 5 to never seek care or delay life-saving medical procedures. Patients rely on inefficient word-of-mouth to find culturally competent providers. Of those that do see providers, only 12% fully come out as authentically LGBTQ+.
As members of the LGBTQ+ community, we know firsthand how hard it can be to find medical providers who create environments where you feel safe and comfortable being your authentic self. Many providers are largely unfamiliar with the unique healthcare conditions our community faces and the historic discrimination our community has endured for generations. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted systemic inequities that prevent our community from receiving the care we deserve. It also presented the ideal opportunity to build a company designed to elevate the LGBTQ+ community by delivering inclusive, personalized care.

Why should I join eMD and get a membership? What will it include?
Your equalityMD membership gets you:

How do I pay for my membership?
We use Recurly for our memberships. You’ll create an account, enter your payment information, and manage your membership via the Recurly website.
What happens after I purchase a membership?
1. After subscribing, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Recurly that your payment was successful.
2. Within 24 hours, you’ll receive a Welcome email with instructions for completing your enrollment in the equalityMD member portal.
3. Completing your enrollment will set you up with a login to the member portal, where you can access all your services immediately. Choose your doctor and schedule your first appointment at any time!
How do I update my payment information?
You can manage your membership and payment settings by signing into your account on Recurly.

How can I cancel my membership?
